In homebirth (and natural birth in general), it is of utmost importance that the mother/family and the midwife have an equal collaboration in the decision making for the woman’s pregnancy, postpartum period and newborn time.  This partnership is one I highly encourage in my practice; the mother is equally involved, rather than being a “submissive party” to her health-care.  I personally feel that it is the mother’s responsibility to do as much reading/research/learning as she can in regard to what is happening within her body during her pregnancy.  It is through this blog that I hope to assist in facilitating this learning process for all pregnant women and their families!
